Challenge Day 3: Friends

BEST FICTIONAL BAND EVAAA.
Poor Anh has no idea how to play bass.
I have a never-ending list of potential band names. This is the one I liked best.

Also, Anh liked my sketch so here it is. Need to figure out how to keep some of that original flowyness.

Challenge Day 2: Someone you like

Jess does not want your moves. Take them back.

I think Adam Levine of Maroon 5 is pretty dang handsome.
The joke wrote itself so well it's probably been done before. Oh well.

Challenge Day 1: Persona

Friends and I are doing a drawing challenge.

Sadly, I do not own that shirt :(
Day one is "persona." I drew myself with symbols of what's been inspiring me the most lately, my three favorite game series: Dragon Age, Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic. Each game I go through, I create a new character, and each has a little bit of me.

Fall 2012 Final Animations

Ani 114 Final: "Hat Trick"
Behold the short tale of Travis the flour sack, and his very first magic show since graduating from Magician College!

Maya 51B: Beginning 3D Animation (Final Reel)
I turned out to like lighting more than I did in the beginning though it's still a pain.
Thanks to Fernando for letting me use his gun model.

Improvement!

This is kinda hard to look at .__.
A summary of my drawing style since I started doodling my silly comics at the beginning of high school. I think I need to print this out and put it above my desk for the days when I feel like I'm not getting any better.

SpideyBats: A Stop Motion Animation Spectacular

Stop-Motion assignment for my Physics of Animation class, a collaboration between Anh and I! The plot came about after he broke my Batman figurine in half. But from adversity comes innovation!

Summer '12 Sketchbook!

Here are some selections from my portfolio sketchbook I did over the summer. :) Despite the stress, it was good times. I like the result, and feel like I learned a lot.

Speed Painting #10

Marathon resumes! Trying Anh's method: Blocking out the large shapes fuzzily, then working it out in the 4 quadrants. I deviated from the plan a bit, but I like it overall.

Source: Can't find the site I originally found it on (because apparently it is on every site for this thing), but the subject is Kilchurn Castle.
Time: 1 hr

Speed Painting #9!

Came to join Jess and Anh's's speed painting marathon, except now they're playing Settlers of Cataan. SLACKERS. Just kidding. They're still ahead of me.

Time: 1hr? ish? Time is an illusion!

Speed Painting #8

Haven't done one of these in a while! Kinda forgot how. I need to start focusing on bigger shapes, spent way too much time zoomed in while working on this.
Time: ~1hr 30min?

Submitting this tonight! Fingers crossed...
Thanks to everyone who gave feedback! Leaving the old post up for reference of what I changed from beginning to end.

Portfolio: First Draft

Hello all! I am applying to the portfolio review this semester. Tonight's the peer review, and I want to fix up a few things before then (some things need to be re-scanned, lighting on the Maya project needs to be fixed, and I still have some figures to go over), but here's what I have so far. There are purposely more pages of figure drawing than I'm planning on having in the end.

Critiques are more than welcome, tear it apart!
