Speed Painting #6

Wanted to try something different. Don't like the end result very much at all (probably could've stood to nitpick a little more this time), but at least the colors are closer than normal. Just noticed I erased the snail's third... antennae thing and forgot to put it back. /facepalm

"Speed" Painting #5

I had a #4, but abandoned it because I was nitpicking too much. Need to work faster!

Not sure exactly how long this took, but it was on and off during 3 episodes of Fringe. I know this one gave a lot of people trouble, so I decided to try working on it rotated 90°. The darks need to be darker (as usual), the whole thing should be a bit more red, the angle of the window is off, and I had no idea what to do with the stuff outside the window. Still, I'm mostly happy with the end result.

"Speed" Painting #3

Spent wayyy too long on this, oops. I mostly just went until I got bored with it. Really need to work on cutting down the time. Picture from Goro Fujita's sample speed painting images.

Time: 90 min? 120 min?

Animations!

Figured I'd post up a few of my animations. Both happen to feature my dear Kcow, the questionably emerald bovine (by the way, did you know there are shades of green called both "India green" and "Islamic green"? The things I learn from Wikipedia).

This first one was done with paper on my scanner for my 2008 De Anza "3D Media" animation class. (Do not use your scanner for stop motion. It takes forever. Just set up a tripod.)

And this second one was my animation final last year for Art 28.

Speed Painting #2

Not sure how long I took on this one, because I started it Friday, gave up on it, then came back to it today. I don't feel like switching majors as much as I did when I gave up the first time, so that's good. The colors don't really feel like they belong in the same picture together though...

Photo is one my dad took at the church near Lake Sevan in Armenia.

Time: An hourish?

Speed Painting #1

Hey guys, I finally made a blog too. Here's my first speed painting. Still regretting I missed the original presentation everyone went to to learn how to do these, but they're fun.

Time: 60min.

Picture was one I took on my recent trip to London. The colors are so wrong on the trees! And the perspective is embarrassing. I need to stop getting so caught up on little details before I have the whole thing blocked out. Also, next time I'll remember to pick something that doesn't have a white background.
